Wishtree

While I read, someone stands near our anchor chart and keeps track of words we don't know or are interesting.

We continue to read this amazing book, discussing what is happening, learning new vocabulary words, and writing our own wishes, adding them to our tree.  Have you talked about the book with your kids?  I encourage you to do so!  Discussing a book with someone who hasn’t read it can be great practice.  Here are some questions to ask:  Who are the main characters?  Tell me about the tree.  Can you describe what is happening now?  What do you think is going to happen next?  What can you tell me about the animals in the book?
