Math

In 4^th grade math we spent time learning about RAYS, POINTS, LINE SEGMENTS, LINES, RIGHT ANGLES, PARALLEL LINES, PERPENDICULAR LINES, INTERSECTING LINES, OBTUSE ANGLES, and ACUTE ANGLES.  The best part?  Ask them to SHOW you.  They have a slew of things to SHOW you using their arms (and voices!). 

In 5^th grade, we continued to spend time learning about VOLUME.  There are so many great lessons that involve volume.  We were able to visualize a cubic yard, along with a cubic inch, foot and centimeter.  We even used a Sharpie marker on a floor tile to remind ourselves the difference between AREA and VOLUME.
