Morning Writing Time

Most mornings (every day but Monday) we have specials first thing in the morning.  Our morning message usually has something involving writing.  We write lists, finish stories, start stories, or write something that will be used in our morning meetings.  Last week, they wrote their middle name on an index card and when we met for our meeting, the cards were face down in the middle of our circle.  Kids (one at a time) picked a card and tried to figure out whose middle name they had chosen.  It was SO FUN.  We learned a lot about our friend’s names (who they were named after, where their name originated, etc.) and tried to greet people using their middle name.  Kids had a great time and it connects us to learn about one another. 

Writing is a really important thing to practice.  It's hard!  There's a lot to remember and the english language is really tricky.  It has been so wonderful to hear them share the things they are working on.  Such talent in room 306!
