Conversation Starters and
the beautiful jars we keep them in!
What are they? They are fun ways to get the conversation
started! Here’s a few samples: If you could invite six people (living or
dead) to dinner, who would you invite and why?
Where in the world would you like to live? Why? If
you had one super power, what would it be?
Why?
The best part: you can keep
adding new ideas to your jars! Yay!
These conversation starters have
helped us have meaningful conversations this week about a wide variety of
things. We have been discussing why it’s
important to talk with one another and discovering new ways to learn about more about what we are thinking. We have used some pre-written
conversation starters and written some of our own too. I love what your kids came up with. They were thoughtful and insightful when
writing their own conversation starters and we had fun talking about them in
community circle. I also loved how
excited they were about them writing them.
The second part of our project
was to create a special jar for our conversation starters. Ohhhhh what fun! Our room may never be the same, and I have
been picking glitter off of my face for 9 hours, but it was totally worth it. Using Modge Podge, tissue paper, newspaper,
BFG book pages (we had three books that were falling apart!), and scrap book paper, we created GORGEOUS glass jars. WOW.
Spectacular.
