MIGHTY MINDS RETURNS

for 4th and 5th graders!

Mighty Minds is a FREE after school class put on by 4 Skyline High School students (and Mrs. McGee) covering a wide variety of topics.  This year, there are eight sessions available for kids to attend.  Here's what's available:

•  All eight sessions (session 1 and 2) 

•   4 sessions - session one

•   4 sessions - session two

There are 24 spaces per class available for 4th and 5th grade students.  Sign up quickly!  These sessions are FREE.  Transportation is NOT provided, and children must be picked up at 5pm.   Please feel free to contact Ellen McGee with any questions.  mcgee@aaps.k12.mi.us. 

Please sign up on SIGN UP GENIUS to have your child participate.  There will also be a PERMISSION SLIP coming home that must be signed and returned.  

Session I:

Feb 23: The Human Skeleton

A day for finding the location and names of various bones in the human body.

Mar 15: Shapes and their Angles

A day for discovering the relationships between shapes, number of sides, and angles.

Mar 22: Video Day

A day for watching fun, educational videos (e.g. CNN student news).

Mar 29: World War II

A day for learning about a few events in World War II with a special emphasis on code cracking.

Session II:

Apr 19: Money

A day for learning about money and its journey.

Apr 26: Game Day

A day for playing games such as Jet-Set Uno, Be 1, and Boggle.

May 3: Books Galore

A day for discussing the characters and themes in a novel that the student is currently reading.

May 17: Muscles and Exercise

A day for discovering some of the major muscles in the human body and using them to play outside.
