STEM boats!
Another
fun STEM activity! They created boats
using their choice of 5 pieces of material.
They could use tape, foam plates, cups, wax paper, aluminum foil,
plastic wrap, and straws. In the morning
message, they were asked to start brainstorming ideas about how boats work and
what they need in order to float. They
then met with their partners to discuss their ideas and what they want to do to
build their boat. The boat needs to hold
10 pennies. When we were seeing if they
were sea worthy, we added more pennies until the boats sank. They were impressive! Ask your child what their boat did, and what
made it finally sink. What would they
change about the design? Bravo! I love all of the thoughts they have when
they are working on STEM activities.
They come up with amazing ideas and work well with one another. Yay!
