Our New Furniture!

This is one of our new pencil cases.  We love them!  We also use them to show when we are finished with something...flip your name over when you are done!

Wow!  Our new furniture is really great.  It’s a bit big for our classroom, so we are working on moving things around or out of the room in order to use the space in the best way.  The desk configuration changed every day last week.  I’m not exactly sure if that will continue every day, but it has been really cool trying new configurations.  Kids have been able to choose their own seats – as long as they are able to work consistently throughout the entire day.  We are still in the process of figuring out our new classroom systems – where to put all of our stuff and when and how to do get things throughout the day – but it was a great four days.  Kids have two drawers and a bin where they are able to keep their things.  They also have a pencil case (with their name on it) that allows them to keep what they need to use during the day with them.  Because we are low on storage space, I’m asking that kids keep their personal items at home (their own pencil cases, folders, binders, etc.) as we no longer have a place to keep those items.  Next week will be spent exploring our space and using things for the first time (including the table that is also a white board!).
