Math

4^th and 5^th graders are both finished with Unit 2 and will take their tests on Wednesday.  Review packs went home on Friday and kids should take time every night to look over what will be on the test.  We completed the review pack at school on Friday and it reflects what will be on their tests.  Project Lead the Way has ended, so, next week, we will begin our new math format.  We took time last week to brainstorm what it might look like, and we all agreed it will change over time.  There will be direct instruction for both groups while the other grade works on a wide variety of math tasks.  Journal pages, math games, IXL, Xtramath, and math projects/challenges, to name a few.  This is a work in progress.  We will work together to create a learning environment that works for everyone.  I’m looking forward to starting on Wednesday!
