Passports

We created passports this week!  These passports will be used as we do social studies and learn about Michigan, the United States and citizenship.   At some point, they will learn about a country they are interested in as well.  We put pictures into our passport this week, along with some facts we’ve learned about our state.  We had a lot of fun discussing things we know about Michigan and learning some things we didn’t know.  Using things like a passport allows us to have some really great conversations.  Some questions/statements made during our conversation:  "What IS a passport?", "Why do they make you get one?", "I've used a passport!", and "I've never been out of the country, but it sure sounds like fun."
