Multiplication

Learn it!  Love it!  Practice it!  Knowing our facts makes life easier.  It’s just that simple.  We learned a new way to solve multiplication problems on Thursday.  

At this point, I am encouraging them to choose the strategy that works best for THEM.  The key is for them to continue to practice solving problems on a regular basis.  10-15 minutes at a time...no need to spend hours doing it, but they MUST DO IT REGULARLY!  

It’s ESSENTIAL that everyone is practicing their facts!  The ultimate goal:  Getting into the clubs!  What!?  What kind of clubs?  If kids get a perfect score (50/50 for addition and subtraction and 100/100 for multiplication) three times in a row…they don’t have to take our weekly 2 and 5 minute tests (which we take on Wednesdays)!  Woot!  Of course, they CAN take the tests if they choose to do so.  While others are testing, they get extra IXL time.
