Monsters!

After reading I Want a Monster! By Elise Gravel we created our very own monsters.  Just as with any great characters, we needed to give them character traits too.  Drawing monsters is fun.  Truly.  I loved seeing all of their amazing ideas and reading the funny character traits they came up with.  Monsters are a fun thing to create.  There are no rules!  No one can say “Monsters don’t look like that!” and they can be as crazy, or as simple as they want.  After we created our monsters, we took time to WRITE about our monsters.  Writing about something you’ve created is a fun exercise.  Again, no rules!  Kids were truly invested in writing and couldn’t wait to get more time to write about their precious monsters.
