Morning Meeting – Getting to Know More About One Another

We did a lot this week in our morning meetings.  We watched a great video from Sesame Street (which they loved) about empathy and then discussed what it means and why it’s important to have empathy.  This is such an important thing to discuss with them.  They need to hear about what it means, see how it works, and practice it in their daily lives.  They are such a wonderful group of kids and we are working on making great choices and treating one another with kindness.  Our class motto:  Be Kind.  Even to mean people.  The world needs more kindness!  

In CONCENTRIC CIRCLES, we told people interesting things about ourselves.  I challenged them to say something new to everyone they talked to.  It was fun seeing them telling each other about themselves and loved our discussion afterward.
