Throw KINDNESS like it’s GLITTER
We are focusing on being kind in
room 306. We always do this, but it’s
highlighted when we are reading a book like Wonder. Choose Kind is an underlying theme in this
book and it’s important to talk about it as much as we can. To help us think about being kind to one
another, I created a sheet of paper with every kid’s name at the top. The idea
was to write something you like about each person in the classroom. This would give everyone a chance to tell
people something they appreciate about each other and everyone will walk away with a list of what
people like about them. It was so fun
watching them write nice things about one another. We passed papers around and quickly moved
around the room for about 15 minutes, writing a sentence about someone and then
passing the paper on to someone else. It
was magical to watch. Every single kid
was on task and smiling. J
The sheets are available for kids to write on throughout our day, and
will be given to their owners when everyone has had a chance to write something
to everyone in the class. YahooOoOo!
