Wonder

This is our next book!  We will only read the Julian Chapter, but kids are welcome to read the rest on their own.  :)  

We are SO close to the end of this book!  It always makes me sad to finish a book.  But, we aren’t really done!  We will read the Julian Chapter next – which is in a separate book (although they are both available in the same book now too) and kids can’t wait!  It’s yet a another point of view and this time, we learn about what the bully’s was thinking during the story.  Julian isn’t liked very much at this point, so it’s interesting to hear their responses as we begin to read his story.  We get to hear his BACKSTORY (one of my new favorite words that came out of our many discussions) and how knowing his story may change our feelings.  They continue to write responses about the book in the Reader’s Notebook (and homework!) too.  I love reading what they are thinking and I am so impressed with how much their writing skills are improving.  It’s a wonderful thing to see happen.
