Enjoy a Slice!
We have
been learning a lot about amazing human beings in the last few weeks. We are getting to know inventors, comic book
artists, presidents, Olympic runners, musicians, and more. We are focusing on learning how to take
notes, creating an interesting lead, and putting a final report together. Note taking has been done in stages. We’ve been reading the Who Was books we chose
(everyone got the chance to shop for their own book) and have met to discuss
how to take notes about interesting things we would want to put in our final
reports. Today we learned about ways to
HOOK the reader with an interesting lead.
I also did the BIG REVEAL! I
hadn’t told them what their final biography report would look like quite
yet. Today, it was revealed that their
reports would be created in a HUGE PIZZA BOX.
We will spend the next two weeks working on these projects and kids can
choose to do some of the work at home if they’d like, but it’s not
necessary. I can’t wait to see how they
construct their pizza boxes –
jamming it full of interesting facts, art work, photographs, and stellar
writing! WooOoT! Stay tuned!
